Many states require people within their professions to become licensed and bonded (or insured). In order to find out if this is required in a specific state, simply contact the state-licensing bureau. Some companies require that their employees are bonded to protect the company from theft or wrong doing on the job.

Bonding is essentially protection for the consumer and/or the employer from any unlawful acts of the employee. In many cases the company with the bonding is required to show proof of their bonding and to what amount to potential customers. While it is almost synonymous with being “insured”, it is not quite the same. Bonding means that a company has essentially deposited a certain sum of money with a bonding company to hold in case they have a claim filed against them. This sum can be $500 to $25,000. If the company does not deliver on a contract or promised work, the consumer can file a claim with the bonding company in the amount up to the sum of your bond.

An example of a profession that needs bonding is general contractors. Some shady contracting companies have been known to collect a down payment and never return or start the work and not finish it. Being bonded provides a form of recourse for homeowners that experience this. It’s like having an insurance policy before you hire the contractor to do work on your home. The homeowner can file a claim with the company that bonded the contractor for damages. This is a very important lesson, just as important as the proper care and maintenance of your pet: how to be kind to animals.

While most children are kind to other people and animals by nature, this does not mean that all children know exactly the best way to handle, play with, and show affection to a pet. In fact, most children have nothing but the best intentions when it comes to their pets, they may just not be aware of their level of gentleness or perhaps they do not understand that something they are doing can annoy, aggravate, or even hurt their pet. Below are some simple tips on how to ensure your child will be kind to his or her new pet and any other pet he or she encounters.

Be a good role model – Children learn a lot by watching adults and no one is more influential in a child’s life than his or her parent. Always treat your pet and all other animals around you with respect and kindness. This will give your child a wonderful model to follow when he or she encounters an animal.

Until you are absolutely sure that your child knows the proper way to behave around your pet, your child should never be left alone with an animal.

In the wake of the whole mortgage crisis, the housing and real estate market suffered drastically. At the same time homeowners suffered greatly too in that over the past couple of years most Americans saw the value of their homes plummet. In these tough economic times, many families are facing tragedies they never would have thought they would have to worry about, such as unemployment and home foreclosure.

When a family gets to a point where they can no longer afford to make their mortgage payments, home foreclosure is usually imminent. However, there are other ways to handle a financial crisis such as this. One such way is a real estate term called a short sale.

In basic terms, a short sale means that you are selling your home for less than it is worth or less than what you owe on your mortgage. A lender must agree to the terms of a short sale before you are able to solve your financial troubles in this manner. This is because the lender in essence has to agree to accept less than what you owe on the remainder of your mortgage. So, essentially, if the lender agrees to a short sale, the lender is agreeing to take a loss on the mortgage owed to them. While it may sound like no lender would agree to this, from the lenders point of view it may be more profitable to accept a short sale than to let a home go into foreclosure. The difference between a short sale and foreclosure may mean the lender is recouping some of the money it is owed rather than losing the total amount of the mortgage all together.

Lenders have differing requirements for processing a short sale, but the majority of them follow several common steps. These steps most likely require that the borrower make contact with the lender, submit a letter of authorization approving that the lender may share your information with other agencies in this process, submit a preliminary net sheet which states what you expect to sell your home for, submit a hardship letter explaining your financial situation and what caused you to get into such a tough financial state, submit proof of income and assets, submit copies of your bank statements with explanations of any large deposits or withdrawals, submit a comparative market analysis which shows prices of homes that are similar in the market, pending sales in your market, and sales in your market within the past six months, and draw up a purchase agreement and listing agreement. You may ask your lender at this point to not report your situation adversely to credit reporting agencies, but this is completely up to the lenders discretion.

Remember, a lender is under no obligation to accept a short sale request. If it is more financially profitable for the lender to foreclose on your home, unfortunately that is probably the decision they will make. But, do not give up hope, it never hurts to ask.

When people think of country music or Nashville, many times they think of Music City USA. Millions of visitors come from around the globe to indulge in their favorite music genre.

Nashville has the Country Music Hall of Fame, Music Row, hosts the CMA Awards, and has many music related attractions that visitors travel to see each year in Music City. One of the cities most visited is the Country Music Hall of Fame. Even if you’re not the biggest country music fan, a tour of the city would be incomplete without a visit to the Hall of Fame. Country music’s rich history is perfectly preserved in a state-of-the-art thirty seven million dollar structure that spans an entire block of downtown Nashville. Operated by the Country Music Foundation, a non-profit, its mission is to preserve the history and traditions of country music for future generations to enjoy. In 1961, the CMA created the Country Music Hall of Fame. Their first inductees were Jimmie Rodgers, Fred Rose and Hank Williams.

The Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum takes you on a trip through decades of country music history. The original Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum opened up on Music Row in April 1967. Now, with a new state-of-the-art building and location, just the building alone is reason enough to visit. The new building’s exterior is laced with symbolic images of Amanda Price. The most obvious of these are the windows that mirror the configuration of piano keys. More conspicuous images include the diamond-shaped radio mast, which is a miniaturized replica of the WSM tower located a few miles south of Nashville. The round discs surrounding the tower symbolize the different size records and CDs country music has been recorded upon. When viewed from the air the building is in the shape of a bass clef. The north-west corner of the building juts out like the tail fin of a 50’s Cadillac. The Country Music Hall of Fame was designed by local architecture firm Tuck Hinton Architects and museum design firm Ralph Appelbaum Associate.

The permanent exhibit traces the history of country music from its humble beginnings and incorporates memorabilia, interactive displays and audio and video clips to take you through the generations. Some of the many treasures that will be forever imbedded in our culture is Elvis Presley’s 1961 gold-plated Cadillac, Willie Nelson’s bandana and Minnie Pearls’ hat just to name a few. The exhibits will thrill your senses with sight and sounds and are sure to thrill any fan. Gold and platinum records line the walls of the museum. You will find exhibits dedicated to those who have been inducted into the Hall of Fame throughout the 40,000-square-foot museum. Live shows are hosted on the grounds at the famous Ford Theater.

When visiting Nashville, there are many other country music attractions to visit like the Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium, the Wildhorse Saloon, Tootsies Orchid Lounge and Hatch Show Print Shop. The Hatch Show Print shop has been open since 1879 and is one of the oldest working letterpress print shops in America and has printed posters for everyone from Elvis and Bob Dylan to Johnny Cash.

The city of Johns Creek is only 30 miles from downtown Atlanta and lies along the banks of the Chattahoochee River.
